After her recovery she decided to do research in the field of
medical
entomology. Soon after she came to the United States to do a post
doctorate
fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.
While being at NIH she started treatments with a Five Element
Acupuncture practitioner; "Watching my acupuncturist work on
me rekindled my interest in alternative approaches to health. I
was fascinated by how such minute instruments could create such
great changes in the body. I saw an impeccable technique with
Five Element acupuncture, and I was attracted to the holistic
aspect of my treatment. I decided I wanted to continue school this
time pursuing a Master's degree in acupuncture".
