Pilar is a Medical Doctor graduated in 1985, in Colombia, South
America. Former NIH Fellow Researcher at The National Institutes
of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for 7 years. She received her
Master’s of Acupuncture degree at The Traditional Acupuncture
Institute , TAI SOPHIA, in Columbia, MD. She is certified
Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist through the National
Acupuncture Detoxification Association.
Pilar began acupuncture as a patient when she was diagnosed with
Multiple Sclerosis while pursuing her
doctorate degree in her homeland;
“the experience of being ill and having the opportunity to
received acupuncture treatments changed my relationship to the
medical field in which I was
working, and I became more interested in alternative approaches to
healing, such
as how energy plays a role in health and wellness".
